"In my work as a Voice of America reporter, writing "Americana" features as well as stories about trends and issues, I must often "rely on the kindness of strangers" in the public-relations business to assist in finding material and interviewees.  I was pleasantly astounded to deal with Jane Rohman recently when I needed guests fast.

Not only did she round them up and get them to our studios promptly, she also answered my inquiries quickly, fully, and without undue "P.R. spin." I remember remarking to her at the time that I wish everyone would be so efficient and helpful.  Journalists do not soon forget such assistance, as you see."
